A 26-year-old Darien woman was arrested after a dispute with her stepfather led her to kick in an outside door, police said.
Darien police gave this account of the incident:
The woman's stepfather told police he asked her to vacate the house on Old Kings Highway South on March 12 and give him her house keys. At 11 p.m. the next evening, she went back to the house but the step-father wouldn't allow her inside.
She then shouted at him to let her in and, when he refused, she kicked the door so hard that it came off its hinges.
Police found the woman nearby and arrested her on charges of disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief. She was released on a promise to appear March 14 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
