Westport police charged a Bridgeport man with possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle after initiating a traffic stop and spotting marijuana in his back seat. A search of the vehicle turned up a shotgun in the trunk. The man told the officers it was his father's gun and that he forgot it was in his car.

Wilton police found themselves stuck at this past weekend after a non-violent offender under their care , forcing Wilton to stand by their man's side while he was admitted as a patient. Part of the problem was due to the man being unable to pay a $10,000 bond after allegedly breaking probation for a "violation of wage payments" crime. When Monday came around, cops successfully pleaded with the judge to drop the $10,000 to a simple promise-to-appear.
