- The Darien Fire Department extinguished a fire in the engine compartment of a car that had pulled into the Tri-S Mobil station on the Post Road, just before 4 p.m.
Wednesday, August 19
- A roughly 27-foot powerboat went up in flames in the Norwalk harbor, just East of the Manresa power plant. The Noroton Fire Department responded mutual aid and extinguished the fire along with Norwalk Fire Department. The boat was towed into land, and there were no injuries. Norwalk is investigating the cause of the incident.
