Fire Log: Mysterious Fumes and Burning Brush
Firefighters also responded to two accidents last week.

Monday, Sept. 6
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Around 10:13 a.m., the Noroton Heights Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident/fuel leak at the intersection of Maple Street and Noroton Avenue.

Wednesday, Sept. 8
BRUSH FIRE: Around 5:58 a.m., the Noroton Heights Fire Department responded to a brush fire on the southbound Metro-North tracks at the Noroton Heights station.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: An accident/injury on I-95 North near exit 13 brought the Darien Fire Department and Noroton Heights Fire Department to the scene around 3:10 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 10
VEHICLE FIRE: Around 4:38 p.m. the Noroton Heights Fire Department was called to extinguish a vehicle fire at 8 Nolen Lane.
Saturday, Sept. 11
GAS/OIL ODOR: The Noroton Heights Fire Department responded to a report of a gas and/or oil odor at 135 Holmes Ave. around 1:33 p.m. The cause turned out to be a burnt tar and paving materials used on the homeowner's driveway.
Sunday, Sept. 12
SMOKE SCARE: The Noroton Heights Fire Department came to the Avalon Darien (137 Hollow Tree Ridge Road) on a report of a smoke scare around 1:02 a.m. The source of the smoke was traced to burnt food.
