A group of females assaulted a 16-year-old girl working at the concession stand at Darien Playhouse on Sunday, hurting her so badly that she was treated at Stamford Hospital, Darien police said.
Police gave this account of the matter:
Late in the afternoon, the females arrived together at the movie theater, located at 1077 Post Rd. and attacked the girl. The victim had scratches or small cuts on her face and bruising under one of her eyes after the assault.
At 5:11 p.m., when police were called, the group had already left, but the victim knew one of the females in the group with whom she had had "prior tensions," as a police news release put it.
The girl was taken to Stamford Hospital by Darien EMS-Post 53, was treated there and released.
Darien Police Department's Youth Division is investigating the incident.
