Golf Clubs Taken from Car in Owner's Driveway

One golfer living on Bridal Trail is now without his sporting gear, valued at a total of $2,440, and some burglar has a set of golf clubs, a range finder and other loot.

Here's how Darien police describe the theft:

Sometime between 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 and 6:30 the following morning, the unlocked vehicle appears to have been entered and the items taken.

The car owner believes the vehicle was entered in that time frame because he noticed a cell phone charged fell out of his car, a 201- BMW 550xi, when he opened the door.

But it wasn't until Friday, May 24, when he opened the trunk and found the clubs missing (valued at $1,900), along with sunglasses ($200), a golf range finder ($200), and two paddle tennis rackets ($140), that he realized he was robbed. He reported the theft to police the next day.
