Police Report: Her Statements Lead to His Arrest

A Stamford woman who said she had a gun led police to search the van of the man in whose car she was, which led to the arrest of -- him as well as her.

A Stamford woman who was told there were no case workers to help her at Person-to-Person offices in Darien, got belligerant and mentioned she had a gun -- which led to a search of the car she was in and the arrest of the man she was with, police said.

Darien police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) of the incident on Saturday, Oct. 26:

Police who were called at 10:25 p.m. to Person-to-Person at 1864 Post Rd. decided to search the van of John Wixson, 44, of Stamford, the man Jessica Bocchetta, 32, was with when she said she had a gun.

They didn't find a gun in the van, but they did find a burglar tool to get into a parking meter, a stun gun, a BB gun without a mark at the end to indicate it wasn't a real pistol, three sets of brass knuckles, handcuffs and a couple of face masks. Also in the van were needles and a couple of bags with heroin residue in them.

Wixson, of Alpine Street, was charged with five counts of having a weapon in a motor vehicle, and one count each of possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglar's tools.

Wixson was originally held on $10,000 bond, but a bail commissioner lowered the bond to a promise to appear Nov. 5 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
Bocchetta, of Courtland Avenue, was charged with breach of peace and released on a promise to appear the same date in the same court.
