Husband, 54, Charged With Assaulting Wife

A 54-year-old Darien man was arrested Friday after a verbal argument "escalated into a minor physical confrontation," and his wife received some scratches on her arm, police said.

The argument took place at about 8 a.m. in the couple's home "in the area of Old Kings Highway North," in a news release. The man was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

He posted $2,500 bond and was to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Stamford.
