A total of $100 in cash was stolen in a theft out of a gym bag on Tuesday, April 24, at the Darien YMCA men's locker room.
It was the latest of several thefts from the locker room at the Y, located at 2420 Post Rd.
When the victim changed into gym clothes, he put his wallet into his gym bag and the gym bag under a bench in the locker room. The theft occurred sometime between 5:30 and 6:50 p.m.
The thief left the victim's wallet behind.
These other thefts from the locker room have been reported to police in the past year:
- April 14, when a $20 bill from the pocket of a pair of pants left an unlocked locker.
- Feb. 16, between 5:30 and 6:45 p.m., a Stamford man he put in an unlocked locker. The victim lost $450, he told police.
- June 1, 2011, a man reported his when he left his clothing in an unlocked locker for 40 minutes.
