A 47-year-old driver on the Post Road was charged with speeding and driving while under the influence of alcohol on Thursday, Darien police said.
Police gave this account of the incident:
Jose Trujillo of Wood Avenue in Bridgeport was driving a 2003 Toyota RAV 4 east on the Post Road at about 1:26 a.m. Thursday when a police officer using radar found the Toyota was speeding.
Police stopped Trujillo's car near the Darien-Norwalk boundary, where he found it difficult to find his driver's license and vehicle registration. He was also unsteady on his feet.
Trujillo failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. He later posted a $250 bond and is to appear Oct. 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
