arrested a 52-year-old Milford woman on charges of sale and possession of narcotics after a sting operation in which an undercover officer arranged to buy $200 worth of cocaine from her, police said.
Police gave this description of the investigation:
Originally, the sale was going to take place in Darien, but plans changed and the meeting took place at 3:20 p.m. on Monday, July 30 at the southbound Interstate 95 rest stop in Fairfield.
Zita Lyons had given the undercover officer a description of her vehicle, and she was found standing next to it when the officer arrived. She was arrested by a team of backup officers.
When a female officer searched her, a napkin fell out of Lyons' right pants leg. Inside the napkin was a small plastic bag containing 2.6 grams of cocaine. Police also found 1.4 grams of heroin on her.
Lyons, of 50 Marble Ln., Milford, was released after posting $25,000 bond. She is to appear Aug. 10 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
