MTA: If You Saw Train Fatality, Please Talk to Us

If you witnessed Kevin P. Murphy's fatal train accident at about 6:30 a.m. Monday at the Noroton Heights railroad station, please call Metropolitan Transportation Authority police—they'd like your help in finding out more about what happened.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority police are asking any eyewitnesses to the 6:30 a.m. train accident Monday that killed Kevin P. Murphy to call them.

"The MTA asks that any eyewitnesses to this incident call the MTA PD Communications Center at (718) 361-2207 and ask for the on-call detective supervisor," the agency announced.

"The MTA has no reason to suspect that any sort of foul play was involved in this accident," according to the announcement released by agency spokesman Aaron Donovan. "Preliminary information indicates that at the time he was struck, Murphy was on the track adjacent to the station’s westbound platform."

Murphy's funeral is scheduled for Friday.
