New Canaan Man Injured After Jumping From Moving Car in Darien
23-year-old male reportedly jumped from car while traveling south on Hoyt Street in Darien; car was being operated by a family member, Darien Police said.
A 23-year-old male resident of New Canaan was hospitalized with a "significant head injury" after he jumped from the passenger side door of a 2008 Mazda which was traveling south on Hoyt Street in Darien Friday afternoon, police said.
According to a police report, officers of the Darien Police Department responded to the area of Hoyt Street and Heather Lane at about 3:47 p.m. on a report of a motor vehicle accident. When officers arrived they learned that the male had jumped from the car, which was being operated by a family member. He was transported to Stamford Hospital by Darien EMS.
Police said there were no other occupants in the vehicle — nor was there any damage to the vehicle or property.

Police said as of Saturday afternoon investigators had not been able to speak with the male subject due to his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
