$50,000 in AC Equipment Lifted from MINI Storefront

Capt. Fred Komm said that police have identified suspects in the burglary.

Over $50,000 in air conditioning equipment was reported stolen Sunday from the new MINI of Fairfield County storefront under construction on Post Road.

According to Capt. Fred Komm, the theft was reported around 12:44 p.m.

Earlier in the day, Komm said, a construction superitendent had contacted management to report that the roof of the unfinished facility (154 Post Rd.) was leaking.

When workers went onto the roof to investigate, they reportedly found that four large air conditioning units weighing about 250 pounds apiece had been removed. The items were collectively valued at $50,000 to $60,000.

Komm said that the lines attached to the units had been "neatly disconnected."

Police have identified suspects in the burglary, Komm said, which remains under investigation.
