Over $8,000 in Jewelry Reported Stolen

Pearls, diamonds, and several gold items were taken in the apparent larceny, police said.

Over $8,000 in jewelry was reported stolen Wednesday from an apartment at (50 Ledge Rd.), Darien police said.

According to Capt. Fred Komm, the resident told police that the items were likely taken between July 25 and Aug. 5.

Among the pieces of jewlery reportedly stolen: pearls, diamonds, gold bracelets, two gold lockets, and a gold ring.

All told, the items were valued around $8,800.

The complainant has several hired helpers who were "in and out of the apartment," Komm said. The matter remains under investigation.
