When a 16-year-old boy shoved his mother across his bedroom during an argument on July 1, she hit something that caused a cut on one leg, a bruise on another and pain elsewhere, said.
A Darien police news release gave this account of the incident:
The mother and son had been arguing about use of a family vehicle when the son grabbed her by the shoulders and "flung her across his bedroom" in their West Avenue home. A ambulance crew took her to Stamford Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.
Darien police charged the boy with second-degree assault and referred his case to juvenile court, where he was scheduled to appear today, Tuesday. He was released into his father's custoedy on a written promise to appear in court.
