Blotter: $6K in Property Stolen from Garage

Police also responded to the theft of a motorized scooter from the Noroton Heights train station.

The following information was provided by the  and reflects incident reports, not convictions.

MONDAY, NOV. 7

  • Larceny: A red Honda Metropolitan scooter valued at $3,000 was reported stolen from the Noroton Heights train station. The owner, a Darien woman, told police she had parked the scooter at 8 a.m. on Nov. 3 and returned on the 7th to find it missing. It had not been chained at the time.
  • Larceny: A wallet was reported stolen from Double Exposure Consignment (1090 Post Rd.). An employee discovered a bar code tag that had been affixed to the item in a fitting room.

TUESDAY, NOV. 8

  • Larceny: George Lawrence, 40, of Bridgeport was arrested on a warrant after allegedly stealing a $10,000, 2.1-carat diamond from a Bailey Ave. resident while performing pest control services on her home. Read the full story here: 

FRIDAY, NOV. 11

  • Burglary: An estimated $6,000 in personal property was reported stolen from a Post Road residence near the Stamford line. Among the missing effects: a toolbox and tools valued at $3,000, a metal med frame and canopy valued at $2,000, a glass display case and knives valued at $1,000, a TV stand valued at $150, and a leather jewelry box valued at $90. The owners were preparing to move and had left the items in an unlocked garage, according to police. They reportedly left the residence around 5 p.m. on Nov. 10 and returned around 2:30 p.m. the next day to find the property missing.
