Police Blotter: August 17-18

This week's police report includes a burglary, larceny and a criminal arrest.

Monday, August 17

  • A residence on Brookside Road was forcibly entered some time between 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, and 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17. Suspects removed various items of silver, loose cash, and a bicycle from the residence. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Detective Division at 203-662-5330.
  • A purse containing $60 in cash and several credit cards was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Trader Joes parking lot. The Darien Police Detective Division is investigating the incident, which took place between 8 and 8:30 p.m.
  • A Darien Parking Permit was stolen from an unsecured vehicle parked in the CVS parking lot. The complainant stated that the driver side window had been left down and was not sure if the doors were locked. The Darien Police Detective Division is investigating the incident, which took place between 8 a.m. and noon.


Tuesday, August 18

  • Isaiah Mcrae of Stamford was taken into custody and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and theft of a motor vehicle plate, when police discovered his single license plate was stolen in Stamford in May 2009. The incident took place at approximately 7:30 p.m. Mcrae posted a $350 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 2.
