RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: A housekeeper who came to perform work at a Tulip Tree Lane residence discovered signs of forced entry at the home.

Police said the woman found the rear glass door of the house, whose owners had been away for several days, smashed and broken. She contacted the homeowner and police, who searched the house but concluded that it was empty.

The residence is equipped with an alarm, but the housekeeper said she had forgotten to activate it when she left on Friday, Aug. 13. PROVIDING ALCOHOL TO MINORS: A 17-year-old female was charged with providing alcohol to minors after police broke up a party at her Indian Spring Trail residence.

Around 12:05 a.m., police received a complaint of loud music coming from the area. When officers located the house and began walking up the driveway, they observed about 20 youths run away from the residence and into the woods. Additional youths were found inside the house, as well as numerous Keystone Light cans, Solo cups, and a beer pong setup

When officers approached the underage host of the party, she told them that her parents were in Vermont and not returning until the next day. She said that she had invited a few friends over but that more had shown up, and that the alcohol had been brought in by friends. The youth also admitted to having had several beers herself, police said.

The teen was placed under arrest and released on a promise to appear in court Sept. 1. Five other youths were also turned over to their parents by police.
