MV BURGLARY: Police say a car burglar or burglars targeted two Raymond Heights residences during the overnight hours of Tuesday and Wednesday—and left with nothing.

Police received a first report from a female resident who claimed her 2005 BMW 330xi had been entered two nights in a row. According to police, the complainant noticed the driver's side door was ajar and the interior light on when she entered her car on Wednesday morning at about 7:30 a.m. Police said "stuff was moved around," but nothing had been taken.

Thursday morning, 7:30 a.m., the complainant noticed the glove box was open, though nothing had been taken and the GPS system and E-ZPass were still intact, police said.

The complainant told police that she habitually locks the BMW but couldn't remember if she had on Tuesday or Wednesday evening when she parked in the driveway at 7:30 p.m.

A second resident filed a report on Thursday morning, claiming that her 2005 Audi A4 had been entered during the overnight hours. The complainant told police she parked the car in the driveway on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and noticed the contents of the center consul moved, the glove box open, when she returned to the car at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Police said nothing was taken; a gym bag stuffed with an iPod and gift cards was left untouched.

"What did they want? I don't know. It's a mystery," said Capt. Fred Komm of the Darien Police Department.

LARCENY: Police say a thief walked onto a Middlesex Road property and left with a 14- to 16-foot canoe. The dark green, fiberglass canoe lives at the end of the resident's pond, where it's normally tied to a tree. It was last observed on April 13, and the husband of the home noticed the canoe, valued at $500, missing when he was mowing the lawn on Thursday.

DWI: Police say Jeffrey Whiteley, 50, of Stamford was speeding at 71 mph in his 2003 Ford Taurus on Tokeneke Road near Old Farm Road at about 2:17 a.m., when he was stopped by police near the I-95 overpass. Police detected a strong odor of alcohol on Whiteley who subsequently failed his field sobriety test. Whitley posted $250 bond and has a court date of May 4.

DWI: Mario Carcamo, 33, of Stratford was charged with DWI and failure to drive right after he turned into oncoming traffic off the I-95 southbound at Exit 13, police said. Carcamo was driving a 2004 Nissan Armada at about 3 a.m. when he was stopped on the Post Road near Birch Road. Police said Carcamo had turned left on the Post Road, heading to Stamford, albeit on the wrong side of the street. Carcamo told police he did not speak English, and told a Spanish-speaking officer that he was on his way to New Haven. Carcamo had glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelled like beer, police said. He failed his field sobriety test, posted $500 bond and has a court date of May 4.
