A quiet week for Darien Police.

The following information was provided by the Darien Police Department:

FALSE REPORT OF INCIDENT: Patricia Castaneda, 19, of Stamford was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the 1st degree and misuse of the 911 system. Stamford police contacted Darien police after receiving a 911 call in which a woman reported an adult male was having sex with a minor in a red Pontiac in Darien. The location of the vehicle was described by the caller as parked behind a bank near I-95. She said she was walking by and observed the incident. She also indicated the license plates of the car did not belong on that car. Darien police were checking Goodwives Shopping Center and observed a red Pontiac parked behind a restaurant. The owner of the vehicle was found inside the restaurant, where he works. He admitted that the plates did belong on another vehicle but said the sexual incident was not true. He said the report may have been filed by his ex-girlfriend; she had been calling the restaurant trying to get him in trouble with his manager. The manager confirmed that the restaurant had been receiving such calls.
