Police Blotter: Power Tools Stolen From Post Road Office

In an otherwise light week for crime in Darien, police also responded to an unusual residential burglary on Inwood Road.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 12

  • Burglary: Some $1,020 in power tools were reported stolen from a storage area at the office of Fairfield County Carpenters (528 Post Rd.). An employee told police that he arrived Wednesday morning to find the office door unlocked and three items — a Bosch jigsaw, a Stanley roofing gun, and a Stanley framing gun — missing. The theft "may bear some relationship to a past or present employee" given that no signs of forced entry were found, according to Capt. Fred Komm.

  • Burglary: An estimated $15,000 of property was stolen from an Inwood Road address over the weekend after burglars cut a hole in the side of the house, according to police. The incident is one in a string of five similar break-ins across the area. Read more at  or .
