A Darien teen was arrested Sunday after police broke up an underage drinking party on Brookside Drive. Police arrested a 17-year-old resident for providing alcohol to minors. His name has been withheld because he is a minor.

According to police, the department received several calls on its underage drinking tip line starting at about 11 p.m. Upon their arrival to the home, police discovered the teen's parents were away. He invited a few people over, but more kids started showing up, police said. Officers arrived during a beer pong game and found several empty beer cans, cups, and a couple half-empty bottles of vodka. There were nine youths in the house, who were turned over to their parents.

The teen was released on a promise to appear in court. He is scheduled to appear in Stamford Juvenile Court on May 3.
