Two Stamford women have been charged in connection with the Aug. 8 heist of 144 containers of Coors and Corona beers from Stop & Shop supermarket in Goodwives Shopping Center.
Darien police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) of the matter:
In the theft, six 18-packs of Coors Light and two 18-packs of Corona valued at $126.23 (including tax but maybe not redemption fees) taken from the store and loaded.
Lamont Corey, 41, of Pacific Street in Stamford, walked out of the supermarket together with Tori Fitts, 46, and Marcie Fitts, 40, both of Myano Lane in Stamford, with the beer, passing by the checkout area without paying.
A store employee took down the license plate of the getaway car, which police then were able to find, eventually arresting Corey last week. On Wednesday, Fitts and Fitts turned themselves in at police headquarters.
Each was charged with sixth degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth degree larceny.
