Pregnant Woman Hospitalized Following Crash on Tokeneke Road

According to Darien Police, the female, who is 25 weeks pregnant, lost consciousness while driving her 2012 Honda east on Tokeneke Road.

A pregnant 26-year-old female from Norwalk was reportedly transported to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident that occurred Friday, Sept. 21, on Tokeneke Road.

According to police, the female, who is 25 weeks pregnant, lost consciousness while driving her 2012 Honda east on Tokeneke Road at about 6:17 p.m.

The car traveled into the westbound lane, striking a 2005 Mercury that was stopped in preparation for a left hand turn onto Old Farm Road. Police said after the Honda struck the right front portion of the Mercury it then struck a utility pole head on.

The pregnant female, who told police she was feeling dizzy just before the accident occurred, was transported to Stamford Hospital by Post 53 with non-life threatening injuries. The operator of the Mercury, also a female resident of Norwalk, stated that her back hurt, but declined medical attention, police said.
