Silver Flatware, Jewelry Taken in Mystic Ln. Burglary

A house on Mystic Lane was burglarized last Tuesday, Oct. 2, while a resident was away for only a few hours.

A Mystic Lane house was burglarized after a window in the back of the house was broken sometime between 1 p.m. and 4:28 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, police said.

Darien police gave this account of the incident:

A resident left the house at 1 p.m. and returned just before 4:28 p.m., when she entered her home to find things out of place inside. She left the house and called police.

The house had been locked when she left, the resident said.

It appeared that burglars had entered every room of the house and opened dressers, tables and closets, police said.

The only items reported stolen were silver flatware and jewelry. Police had no estimate of the value of the stolen property.
