Someone tipped off police that there was beer drinking by underage people going on in a home on West Avenue, and when Darien police arrived at the scene, they say they smelled alcohol on the breath of a 17-year-old resident.
Police went inside the home after the 1:54 p.m. call on Friday, March 28. There they found two other teenagers -- one under age 16 and the other a 19-year-old. They also found a 12-pack of Bud Lite on a porch with four beers missing and presumed drunk.
The 17-year-old with alcohol on his breath and the other juvenile were charged with drinking while under age on private property. The 19-year-old wasn't charged. Parents of the juveniles were informed.
