On 6-13-2013 [Thursday], at approximately 4:00 p.m., all CT State Troopers were advised of information received regarding a fugitive that was wanted by the State of Florida. The suspect, Craig Shertzer, was wanted by the FBI (Tampa Office) for charges out of Florida for threatening his ex-wife and children. It was believed that the suspect could be traveling up the East Coast.
It was also reported that the suspect might be in possession of a weapon and operating a pick- up towing a trailer.
Connecticut State Trooper Craig Clabby was on a patrol post on I-95 northbound in the vicinity of exit 9 when he observed the suspect vehicle, a Toyota Tundra pick-up towing a white enclosed trailer.

Tpr. Clabby, after observing the suspect vehicle, stopped that vehicle as it exited at exit 11 and pulled into a gas station. Assisted by Tpr. Desoto and officers from Darien PD, the suspect was located in the vehicle and taken into custody without incident. NO weapons were located on the suspect.
The active arrest warrant was confirmed out of the Florida FBI office and the accused was transported to Troop G in Bridgeport where he was formally charged as a Fugitive from Justice and held for the State of Florida. The accused was processed and held on a $500,000 bond.
