Teacher's SUV Stolen From Hindley, Recovered in Bronx

The vehicle had been locked and secured with an alarm at the time, according to the owner.

The SUV of a teacher was stolen from school grounds on Wednesday but recovered later the same day in the Bronx, according to .

The owner had parked the 2007 Toyota RAV4 on the school's basketball court around noon, police said, because the parking lot had filled up. When the teacher returned later that afternoon, the vehicle was gone.

The SUV was reportedly locked and secured with an alarm at the time, and police said they found shattered glass in the area where it had been parked.

At 6 p.m., Darien Police were contacted by the NYPD, who told them that the vehicle had been recovered in the Bronx shortly after 4 p.m. 

The two people in possession of the SUV were taken into custody, police said. Details of the arrests were not immediately available.
