A 19-year-old woman who hosted a party at her home while her parents were gone was arrested after police came and found teenagers with alcohol there, police said.
Darien police gave this account of the incident:
At about 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, neighbors complained to police about loud noise coming from a party at Avalon Apartments, 137 Hollow Tree Ridge Rd.
When police arrived, they saw a group of teenagers on the front porch and an open bottle of vodka. Inside, police saw many beer cans and another bottle of vodka. None of the teenagers were above the legal drinking age.
Carla Paredes, who lives in the apartment, said she was the host of the party, but said the alcohol had been brought in by the guests. Her mother wasn't home at the time.
Police arrested Paredes on a charge of providing alcohol to minors. She was later released on $250 bond and is to appear Nov. 21 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
