Three New York men were arrested Saturday after police responded to a report of one of them attempting to use a fake credit card at CVS.
According to a press release sent Sunday, the man fled from the store after he was unable to use the card. He got into a red Nissan Altima.
An officer responded to the incident and was able to locate the car.
"Further investigation revealed that the three occupants of the vehicle were from New York City and were in possession of numerous fraudulent or stolen credit cards and a substantial amount of cash," the release says.
Charges issued to the three men are as follows:
- Michael D. Harris, 24, of Corona, N.Y. — 13 counts of possession of an illegal/fraudulent credit card; one count of conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree; one count of unlawful use of a credit card; and one count of attempt to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
- Dave O. Obaseki, 22, of Cambria Heights, N.Y. — six counts of possession of an illegal/fraudulent credit card; one count of conspiracy to unlawfully use a credit card; and one count of conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
- Shaquell D. Caldwell, 22, of Corona, N.Y. — one count of conspiracy to unlawfully use a credit card and one count of conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
The men each posted $25,000 bonds and are due in court March 26.
