A woman who parked a 2008 Land Rover in front of her Mansfield Avenue home early one morning between taking her children to school found the door ajar and her $2,000 diamond Tiffany necklace missing.
The plastic bag she had put it in was still there, and police later took it to see if they could get fingerprints from it.
The woman had planned to take the necklace to a jeweler for repairs and had left it in the clear plastic bag on the console of her vehicle after dropping off one child at a school, returning to her home and, at 7:45 a.m., going back out to the car to deliver the other child. She called police at 9:20 a.m.
