Traffic Accident Results in Rollover, Minor Injuries

Three drivers were treated at Stamford Hospital for minor injuries after an accident at the intersection of Hollow Tree Ridge Road and West Avenue on Saturday resulted in the rollover of one vehicle onto its side.

A traffic accident at the corner of Hollow Tree Ridge Road and West Avenue on Saturday resulted in the rollover of a Nissan wagon and a trip to the hospital for three people with minor injuries.

Darien police gave this account of the incident:

At about 5:54 p.m., the 2010 Nissan wagen was traveling south on Hollow Tree Ridge Road through the intersection with West Avenue when it was struck by a 2000 Chrysler Van going east on West Avenue.

The Nissan rolled over on its side and struck a 2006 Volkswagen sedan that was stopped at the intersection, facing north.

A Darien EMS-Post 53 amblance transported all three drivers to Stamford Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.

"Due to conflicting accounts, investigating officers are unable to establish which vehicle actually caused the accident," wrote Capt. Frederick Komm, commander of the Administrative & Investigative Services Bureau, in an email. "Therefore we are asking anyone with information who may have witnessed the accident to contact Lieutenant Don Anderson at 203-662-5363."
