Twice on Friday night, Jan. 11, cars were burglarized in restaurant parking lots, with rear, passenger-side windows broken to gain access, according to Darien police.
Police gave these accounts of each incident:
Chevy Aveo behind Post Corner Pizza
The owner told police she parked her 2005 Chevy Aveo in the parking lot behind Post Corner Pizza at 847 Post Rd. at about 9 p.m., then returned only 15 minutes later to find the window broken and also some damage to the door. The owner wasn't certain that anything was taken.
Mercedes GL450 at Matsuri
The owner and his wife left a 2009 Mercedes GL450 in the parking lot of Matsuri Restaurant, 390 Post Rd. (see map), at about 8 p.m. On their return at about 9:30 p.m., they found the window broken and damage done to the door.
A black nylon bag holding a Wilson paddle racket was taken. The total estimated value of the items is about $200.
