Vehicles Burglarized on West, Noroton Avenues

Sunglasses and personal electronic gear were taken in separate motor vehicle burglaries on July 9 through July 11, one on West Avenue, the other on Noroton Avenue.

Darien police gave these accounts of the burglaries:

On West Avenue, two vehicles parked in the same driveway were entered sometime between 5 and 7 p.m. on July 9. Neither car was locked.

The front door of a Jeep Wrangler was ajar, and from the glove compartment a pair of designer sunglasses valued at $40 were taken.

From that same driveway, an Acura MDX was entered and a pair of $170 Maui Jim sunglasses were taken.

On Noroton Avenue, a locked Ford Winstar was entered, apparently by someone who was able to unlock the car by getting a tool past the driver's side window sometime between 11:30 p.m. on July 10 and 5 a.m. on July 11. An iPad valued at $300 and an iPod Touch valued at $200 were taken.
