Cops: 5 Women Beat up Waitress After Bill Dispute

Unusual arrests and investigations from towns beyond Fairfield County.

A group of five Massachusetts women, unhappy with their bill, took it out on a waitress at Acropolis Diner in Hamden, , Hamden police said. The women first left the restaurant, then two returned, then three others came back and also joined in the assault, police said.

According to Hamden Police Captain Ronald Smith, "The victim was allegedly punched and kicked in the head and body. Her hair was pulled from her scalp." She was treated at a nearby hospital.
