DPW to Begin Final Irene Sweep Thursday

Crews will place notices in mailboxes as they make their final pass.

Starting Thursday, the  will make a final pass through Darien to collect downed branches and tree debris left curbside in the wake Tropical Storm Irene.

According to the department, crews will place notices in mailboxes as crews make their last round down each street. After that time, the DPW asks that residents not leave any more debris.

Loose leaves will be left behind, as the department lacks the resources to remove them. Private neighborhoods are not covered by the sweep.
