Loose leaves will be left behind, as the department lacks the resources to remove them. Private neighborhoods are not covered by the sweep.
The Darien Transfer Station — or dump — will still be open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. If you don't already have one, 2011-2012 dump stickers are available for sale at .
Correction: DPW's final sweep of the town begins Thursday but will take multiple days.
