Himes' Health Care Listening Tour

Congressman Jim Himes has organized three meetings in Greenwich, Norwalk and Bridgeport to gather input from constituents on health care reform.

“What do we do about health care?” It's a question that has politicians, insurance providers, doctors, and citizens all over the country in heated debate. And while there’s no easy answer, it is safe to say that the complexities of health care reform necessitate a lot of talking—and a lot of listening.

Congressman Jim Himes is continuing what he's calling his Health Care Listening Tour with three meetings starting on Monday, August 31, in Greenwich, where he will seek input from Connecticut residents on health-care reform.

Himes has held over a dozen events to date and has launched an online forum to promote conversation on the issue and gather input from the residents of Southwest Connecticut.

“The cost of health care is one of the most pressing issues in our country, and it is at the top of my agenda,” says Himes in an introductory letter posted on the site. “It's critical that I hear the concerns of families and businesses in Southwest Connecticut so that reform reflects your needs.”

The  meetings are open to the public and are expected to run approximately two hours. Dates, locations and times are listed below:

  • Monday, August 31: Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room, 101 Field Point Road; 6:30 p.m.
