RTC Reminds Voters About Absentee Ballots

An absentee ballot is granted to any Darien resident who is 18 years of age and who is unable to vote on election day.

Submitted by the Darien Republican Town Committee:

Election Day is fast approaching and the Darien Republican Town Committee urges all eligible voters who cannot get to the polls on Election Day to apply for an absentee ballot.

An absentee ballot is granted to any Darien resident who is 18 years of age and who is unable to vote on election day for any of the following reasons: absence from town during voting hours, illness, disability, active service in the armed forces, religious beliefs that conflict with the election, or living in a foreign country on a temporary basis.

An absentee ballot application may be obtained at Town Hall from the Town Clerk’s office, which is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Once your application has been verified, you will be given a ballot and you can vote on the spot.

If you prefer, you can download the Absentee Ballot Application online on the Republican Town Committee or Town Hall websites. Upon receipt of your application, your absentee ballot will be mailed to you. You can then mail or drop off your completed ballot at the Town Clerk’s office.  Note: All absentee ballots must be received no later than 6:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011.
