RTM, Board of Education Elect Leaders

For their first meetings since the November election, the Representative Town Meeting elected a new moderator, Sarah Seelye, and the Board of Education re-elected Chairperson Elizabeth Hagerty-Ross.

The Representative Town Meeting elected Sarah Seelye as moderator at its first meeting after the Nov. 6 election, and it said good-bye to Karen Armour, who had been moderator for 10 years.

Seelye was elected unopposed for a one-year term as moderator. Chairmen and vice chairman for each of the five district delegations were also elected in caucus meetings held right after the RTM meeting. Two members of each caucus were elected to the RTM Rules Committee, which Seelye will chair as modertor.

Seelye said after the meeting that the Rules Committee, which she chairs, will ask each RTM committee to report back with a presentation of five minutes or so about recent developments in its subject area. The reports would be given at each RTM meeting, she said.
