The Board of Selectmen unanimously voted Monday to appoint Acting Building Official Peter E. Solheim as the new building official.
Solheim has been running the four-employee department since the retirement of former Building Official Charles Savarine last November.
The position has a $102,500 salary and involves the overseeing of the town's building inspections.
