Certainly, U.S. News & World Report's recent ranking of Darien High School #1 High School in the State of CT has generated a lot of excitement in town. Conrad (West Hartford), Weston, Ridgefield, Farmington, Wilton and Staples (Westport) High Schools also received top ranks. This noteworthy tribute to Darien schools is in addition to Middlesex and Hindley Elementary’s Blue Ribbon awards for scholarship. These school rankings had a strong effect on the real estate market as this Spring’s relocation buyers continued to submit offers in multiple bids in an effort to call Darien home. Indeed, those that call Rowayton home would agree with the author liking it to a Norman Rockwell illustration, and certainly the towns’ own large artist community. The towns all have a steady economy, abundant green space, great schools, and healthy sense of community. Weston, CT was a CNN Money top ten pick in 2011. This year, Weston was still noted as a top earning town, along with Scarsdale, NY and Hillsborough, CA to name a few. Weston was noted for offering reasonable commutes to top earning areas and boast beautiful homes, great schools, and tight knit communities.
