CA Junior High: No More Skinny Jeans, Girls — You're Distracting the Boys

Kenilworth Junior High School says the change in its dress code is needed to improve boys' focus, but some parents say it sends the wrong message to young women. What's your take?

Kenilworth Junior High in Petaluma, CA has a new policy: No tight clothing for the girls.

School administrators announced the new dress code this past Thursday, explaining that the girls’ tight leggings and jeans were a distraction to the male students.

The decision has caused an uproar among some parents who feel the school is sending the wrong message to young women.

School administrators say they simply want their students to focus on learning and not be distracted in class. The California Education Code allows schools to create their own dress code.

Numerous schools around the United States and other countries have passed similar dress code changes in an effort to get their students to concentrate on school work.
