Saint Catherine Academy Presents A Parent Workshop for Parents of Special Needs Children

Saint Catherine Academy will be hosting a parent workshop focused on targeting the stresses and challenges that parents of children with intellectual disabilities face. Saint Catherine Academy is a private, state-approved school of the Diocese of Bridgeport serving students with one or more intellectual disabilities, and this lecture will include interactive discussion with experts Dr. Evelyn Bilias Lolis and Dr. Christine Siegel.

Dr. Evelyn Bilias Lolis is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology and Special Education at Fairfield University. She has provided extensive behavioral consultation and professional development in PBS Practices to various public schools as well as specialized learning facilities. Dr. Christine Siegel is the Associate Dean for the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions and an associate professor of School Psychology at Fairfield University as well. Her research focuses on families with children with disabilities.

The workshop will include a review of the current research, working models, and helpful strategies for understanding and managing the stresses involved with parenting a child with exceptional needs. This workshop, “Positive Behavioral Support Practices in the Home” will take place Monday, April 30th at 6:30 pm and will be held at Saint Catherine Academy’s facilities at 760 Tahmore Drive, in Fairfield, CT.
