'Surviving the Teenage Years' with Agati

The Parent Aawareness Network hosts Jack Agati, who will present "Who's Driving the Car? Surviving the Teenage Years" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at . This event is free to the public.

Why do teens do the things they do and, more importantly, what we can do to insure that we're raising responsible members of the community? Agati, expert on this topic, offer tips to surviving these crazy years while still loving one another.

Agati will demonstrate how to allow your teens freedom of choice while ensuring they recognize their responsibility for the outcome of their choices. He'll also discuss the importance of emphasizing who they are rather than what they do.

Agati is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Master's degree in Counseling, has worked over 15  years in public education as a counselor and director of student services, as well as in the private sector. He has taught college level courses, appeared on television and radio, and created the popular audio series "Why Do Kids Do the Things They Do?" He has over 25 years experience as a professional speaker with a reputation for useful and relevant material combined with humor that makes learning enjoyable.

This program is provided free of charge for parents of all ages of children and is sponsored by the YWCA Parent Awareness Network, Middlesex Middle School & Darien High School. Parent Awareness, which receives support from the Community Fund of Darien, is a YWCA program that promotes the healthy, positive development of Darien youth and families.  Parent Awareness is also a member of Thriving Youth: Connected Community: TYCC is a catalyst for developmental asset building through meaningful relationship experiences, skills and opportunities that benefit all our children.
