Beginning May 2nd, join Nicholas Troilo, wine collector and founder of Darien's own Nicholas Roberts Wine Merchants for a two evening guided tasting of wines from around the world. Participants will learn the techniques connoisseurs use to evaluate and judge wine as well as define their own palate and taste. The class will taste six different wines each night and discuss how to pair wines with food and why. This is an introductory course designed for those who enjoy wine, purchase wine solely on price or fame of label or who might be afraid to serve red wine with fish. The course will be held May 2nd & 9th, 7-9pm; fees of $75 per person cover the two evenings of tastings. In addition to the course fee, a $25 materials fee is payable to the instructor on the evening of the course. Classes will be held at the DCA, 274 Middlesex Road, Darien. Please reserve by phone at (203) 655-9050. The DCA provides a broad array of educational, cultural, and social programs in an historic setting and enriches the community through philanthropy and outreach. Funds earned by Nicholas Roberts Wine Merchants from wine tasting events such as this support ‘Turning Wine Into Water’, a charity they founded that works with international relief organizations such as World Vision to build wells in some of the poorest regions of the world.
