Slideshow: Gray Skies Outside, Jubilation Indoors as Class of 2011 Graduates [Update]

Darien High School bid farewell to 314 newly-minted alumni Friday.

Rain may have pushed Friday's Darien High School graduation ceremonies indoors, but it couldn't diminish the enthusiasm of the 314 newly-minted alumni or the hundreds of family, friends, and faculty there to support them.

In an evening marked by thundering rounds of applause, a lively rendition of Natalie Cole's "This Will Be," and principal plastered with hundreds of smiley-face stickers, the class of 2011 bid a fond farewall to the teachers and halls they had come to known in the past four years.

"I believe I can say with confidence that Darien High School hasn't seen such a strong academic class in decades, your championship athletic teams speak for themselves, and your phenomenal artistic and musical talents have been witnessed by the hundreds who have attended your shows and performances," Principal Dan Haron said of the class.
