Darien Public Schools announced this change of schedule starting Monday:
Due to the state mandated CAPT testing, Darien High School will follow a 90 minute delayed opening school schedule from Monday, March 4–Thursday, March 7 and again from Monday, March 11-Thursday March 14, 2013.
All sophomores and re-testing juniors are required to report to school no later than 7:40 AM each day during the testing period. Buses will run on a regular schedule in the morning; there will NOT be a late bus. Students in grades 9, 11 and 12 who take the bus may use the library or cafeteria during CAPT testing, except as indicated [...] below.

Dear Parent or Guardian:
Due to the state mandated CAPT testing, Darien High School will follow a 90 minute delayed opening school schedule from Monday, March 4–Thursday, March 7 and again from Monday, March 11-Thursday March 14, 2013.

- GRADE 9: Thursday, March 14th, all ninth graders will be administered the CAPT practice test in “Response to Literature”. This is a section of the CAPT exam that students will take formally next year as sophomores. Additional information about these tests will be given to ninth graders in their English 9 courses.
- GRADE 10: State mandated CAPT testing will be administered to all sophomores at DHS from Monday, March 4–Thursday, March 7 and again from Monday, March 11-Thursday March 14, 2013.
- GRADE 11: Tuesday, March 5–Thursday, March 7 and again from Tuesday, March 12-Wednesday March 13, 2013: Juniors needing to retake one or more of the tests will follow the same daily schedule as the sophomores. Juniors retaking CAPT Math need to report at 7:40 AM on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday March 13 only. Juniors retaking CAPT English need to report at 7:40 AM on Tuesday, March 5, Wednesday March 6 and Thursday March 7. Juniors who need to make up a test to meet the Darien graduation requirement have been notified in an earlier mailing. If you need to verify your status, please contact your counselor.
- GRADE 12: Monday, March 4–Thursday, March 7 and again from Monday, March 11-Thursday March 14, 2013: Seniors should arrive on time for the first academic class period each day. Classes will begin according to the schedule on the reverse of this page.
It is important that all students who are testing arrive on time. Room assignments will be posted the day of the exam. No student can be allowed into the testing rooms once an exam has begun. Late students will be treated as absent, and will be tested during class time in the week following the testing period. Thank you for your cooperation.
