Updates to the Diamond Pet Food Recall

Another pet food added to the recall list.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 8, 2012 - Solid Gold Health Products for Pets, Inc., El Cajon, California, announced a voluntary recall of one batch of WolfCub Large Breed Puppy Food and one batch of Solid Gold WolfKing Large Breed Adult Dog, both with a Best Before date of December 30, 2012, and an “X” in the 11th digit of the date code.

Solid Gold is voluntarily recalling the products below, distributed in the United States and Canada. This voluntary recall is being done out of an abundance of caution as these products were produced at the facility that has been linked to recent recalls of Diamond brand pet foods due to potential Salmonella contamination.

WolfKing recalled batch identifying information :
Best Before 30 Dec 2012
SGL1201 and an "X" as the 11th digit
4 lb, 15 lb, and 28.5 lb bags

WolfCub recalled batch identifying information :

Best Before 30 Dec 2012
SGB1201 and an "X" as the 11th digit
4 lb, 15 lb, and 33 lb bags

Thanks, Shirleen, for getting this word out. And thank you, too, for your help when I called the other day about the food our dogs are eating (which was on the list). Being able to pick up the phone and call you was comforting and another good reason to shop local!

I would love to know when the Jerky Treats from China are going to be recalled. How many pets have to die? Thanks for your update on the Diamond Dog food recall. I will get the word out to as many as possible.
