Patch's daily digest of Darien sports

UPDATES

• Soccer: Jon Bradley, the fomer coach of the Darien girls soccer team, was named the new mentor of the boys squad earlier this week.

Bradley enjoyed considerable success with the Darien girls, leading the Blue Wave to the FCIAC playoffs in each of his five seasons at the helm, including trips the boys in 2006 and 2007.

However, he is facing a rebuilding project with the boys, who are coming off a 2-6-7 year. Bradley takes over for Nicolae Piperea, who stepped down on July 19.

Bradley also has coached elite youth soccer programs in the area and is in charge of the Darien Youth Soccer Association.
